Dr. Michelle J. Mitchell – Dr. Mitchell graduated from Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. Prior to graduation Dr. Mitchell worked as a Registered Nurse at University Hospital.  Dr. Mitchell worked in Montgomery, Alabama as an associate veterinarian prior to opening Mitchell Veterinary Hospital near Lake Martin in 2001.  In 2009 Dr. Mitchell moved her practice to Tallassee, Alabama where she opened a new 4,000 square foot state of the art hospital. Dr. Mitchell’s most recent memorable moment occurred when a pet patient that had been paralyzed for over 3weeks regained the ability to walk and run with stem cell therapy administered at our hospital. Dr. Mitchell has 5 dogs, 2 donkeys, 2 horses and numerous barn cats.


Kristi Bush –  Kristi first visited Mitchell Veterinary Hospital as a client in 2001, but her love of animals called her to become involved with animal medicine and was shortly thereafter hired by Dr. Mitchell as a technician on her staff.  Kristi and her family have 6 loving dogs that keep her occupied (Stella, Poof, Minnie, Red, Gypsy and Gabe).


Courtney Syck – Courtney is originally from Maryland and moved to Alabama in 2012.  She began working in the veterinary field in 2001 and joined the Mitchell Veterinary Hospital team in 2012.  Courtney is currently enrolled at Jefferson State Community College to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician.  She and her husband Paul have 3 dogs (Ginger, Jethro and Raylan) and 1 cat (Willy).


Carissa George – Carissa is originally from Indiana and moved to Alabama in 2006 where she and her husband have a large swine and cattle farm.  Carissa joined the Mitchell Veterinary team in 2014 with background knowledge of large animals, but has quickly adjusted to working with smaller animals in the medical field.  Carissa has 5 dogs (Abby, Charlie, Pippi, Rufus and Seester).


Cheyenne Cox – Since Cheyenne was a child, she has always known she wanted to be in the veterinary field.  Her first job was at the age of 16 when she assisted in cleaning dog kennels at a local veterinary clinic.  Cheyenne joined the Mitchell Veterinary Hospital team in 2016 and is currently enrolled at Penn Foster University where she is in her second year of study to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician.  Cheyenne loves “Bully” breeds and baby animals that require bottle-feeding and lots of love.  She has 1 pet Squirrel (Chessie) and 3 cats (Brodie, Roger and Maizee) who were all rescues.
